About St. John UCC
Since our church was founded in 1870, we are one of the few churches that have chosen to stay on the site where our original church was constructed. We have been encouraged and led by the greatest story ever told. The people of the United Church of Christ are a people united and always uniting. We place great value in serving others.
On any particular Sunday, you may find:
- Music performed by our Chancel Choir
- Members participating in worship and/or sharing special music with the congregation
- Special offerings which are taken and dedicated to a variety of different causes
- Fellowship time following the service each week which is sponsored by either groups or individuals
- Sunday School for ages three through Confirmation
The United Church of Christ recognizes two sacraments – Baptism and The Lord’s Supper. Our worship services contain a wide variety of musical traditions, as well as expressions and values that have integrity and purpose. From conservative to liberal, we’re not short on variety.
Our congregation is open and friendly. We serve as liturgists, musicians, ushers, and participants in a variety of capacities. We believe strongly in being active in both the religious and wider communities. Mission projects are important to St. John.
We are all God’s children, and all are welcome here. If you don’t have a church home, we invite you to spend some time with us.
